Terms of Service Canada

Welcome to Clip!

These Terms only apply to Clip users and Clip services in Canada. If you are located in the United States, please see our US Terms.

Clip Money’s services include the Clip mobile app (the “Clip App”) and the related Clip Money cash deposit services (collectively, “Clip”).

When you sign up for a Clip account, you are agreeing to these Terms. Every time you use Clip to make a deposit, there is a separate agreement for that deposit. The agreement is between Clip Money Inc. (“Clip Money”, “we”, “us” or “our”) and you or the organization you represent (“you” or “your”) and is comprised of these Terms and the information and terms provided in the Clip App for that deposit. If you are agreeing to these Terms on behalf of any organization, you confirm that you have authority to do so.

Please read these Terms carefully. They include terms that limit our liability (see the sections titled “Limited Warranty” and “Limitation of Liability”).

1. Future Amendments to these Terms

We may amend these Terms at any time, by posting the amended version in the Clip App or on our website and communicating such amendments to you by notice provided via email, text or the Clip App (each a “Clip App Notification”). The amended version will be effective when posted, and will apply to any deposits made using Clip after the amended version is posted. If any amendments to these Terms are not acceptable to you, you must discontinue your use of Clip immediately. Your continued use of Clip after any amended version of these Terms is posted is your acceptance of the amended Terms.

2. Your Clip Account and Your Bank Account

You must open an account with us (a “Clip Account”) to use Clip. During registration, the Clip App will ask you for information, including information about the account or accounts at banks and other financial institutions to which you would like to make deposits (each, a “Bank Account”). For greater certainty, you may link additional Bank Accounts from time to time after your initial registration. To open a Clip Account, you must be at least the age of majority where you reside. You must provide accurate and complete information in response to our questions, and you must keep that information current.

When you add a Bank Account to your Clip Account, we verify the accuracy of your Bank Account information by using a third party account verification service. By adding a Bank Account to your Clip Account you are agreeing to the additional legal terms for that service, which are available in the Clip App or on the Clip Money website.

You may only use Clip to make deposits to your own bank account. You may not use Clip to make a deposit to any bank account for which you are not the account holder. For joint bank accounts, either or both account holders may have the account registered to his or her Clip Account.

3. Making a Deposit

To deposit your Canadian cash, open the Clip App.

The Clip App will ask you for the amount of cash you want to deposit and certain additional information. The Clip App will ask you to pick the Clip Money retailer where you will drop your cash (the “Clip Retailer”). If you have more than one Bank Account registered with your Clip Account, the Clip App will ask you to pick the Bank Account to which you would like to make the deposit. The Clip App will tell you the amount of Clip fees [and taxes] that will be charged for the deposit. Check that your cash matches the cash amount that you entered in the Clip App.
